ACES (ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES) & THE POWER OF RESILIENCE
Clarify the vision and communicate it effectively. The role of leadership in change management requires that you help people buy into your vision for the organization. This type of communication needs to occur consistently, no matter if it’s the mundane, day-to-day issues or more serious change programs. This training will look at real organization challenges and guide interactive solutions.
CREATING EFFECTIVE CHANGE AND ORGANIZATIONAL BUY-IN
This training will include an exploration of Adverse Childhood Experiences, how trauma can present in the classroom, self-regulation methods, and resources to support our students in the classroom setting.
HEALING CENTERED CLASSROOMS
This training will further explore the cost of caring on support staff, teachers, caregivers and all others working with children and adults coming from difficult places - especially in the wake of COVID-19.We will provide an overview of burnout, secondary stress response, compassion fatigue and the impact on function. The training will review practical self-care strategies and provide selfcare planning activities. There will also be opportunities during this training to learn and practice regulation strategies. Participation is encouraged to make this training interactive and meaningful!
HEALING THE HELPER
Take the time to discuss pronouns and the practice of respectful corrections. This training is an important piece of respectful communication that all can benefit from.
THE IMPORTANCE OF PRONOUNS
This training focuses on helping leaders and others understand organizational identity, culture, and trauma. Educating leaders in trauma and its impact on organizational identity is a key step toward healing and promoting healthier organizational cultures. Looking at the importance of creating topdown, bottom-up communication systems to ensure leadership decisions are guided by client and staff experience and needs. We will look at different ways to create these systems that create a sustained positive culture that positions you as an employer and provider of choice.
THE IMPORTANCE OF UNDERSTANDING ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE
Would you like to provide a more welcoming and inclusive space at your organization, school, business, place of worship, or dining room table LGBTQ+ community members? This training will help you learn more about LGBTQ+ terminology, becoming an ally, mapping out gender vs. sexuality, steps of the coming out model, respectful communication, local LGBTQ+ resources, and much more.
SAFE ZONE
Just as the effect of experiences and events impact individuals differently (e.g. an event that one person has a trauma-response to, another may not be traumatized by the same event), so do stressors. Participants will learn why “Self-Control is NOT the same thing as Self-Regulation” and be introduced to a powerful strategy (re-framing) and an engaging process (with resources) that invites teachers and students to become “Stress Detectives.” Based on the work of Dr. Stuart Shanker.
SELF-REGULATION: AN INDIVIDUALIZED EXPERIENCE
As a society and a profession, we hear the phrase “Trauma Informed” everywhere but what does it really mean to be Trauma Informed? This training will explore the continuum of becoming trauma informed to trauma responsive and ultimately healing centered. Changing language from what is wrong with this person to what happened to this person and how to build on the strengths of the individual.
TRAUMA INFORMED CARE: MORE THAN A BUZZ WORD
Decades of research indicates that treating and responding to children that engage in Problematic Sexual Behaviors in ways systems respond to adult offenders is not effective. Children need comprehensive treatment and response to heal and promote behavioral change. This training will provide an overview of problematic sexual behaviors in youth and children, and includes basic information on the continuum of childhood sexual behaviors, criteria for problematic sexual behaviors, the role of language and science in informing the response, and next steps for communities.
